BACK COVE
34O OUTBOARD
Her cockpit and helm deck are meant for entertaining with an aft facing seat that converts into a U-shaped helm deck dinette, or second berth. The standard 5kW diesel generator and cabin A/C below deck coupled with the spacious island berth, separate head, and shower, remind one that this Back Cove is still intended for cruising.
Desired cruise speed for the new Back Cove 34O is 30 to 35 knots, with a top speed of 40 knots. The 34o will be 10 percent lighter than the 32 it’s based on, with a displacement of around 17,000 pounds. To reduce weight, solid fiberglass topsides became cored versions, and a few other adjustments.
Amazing storage is available where the diesel engines were on the 32. The access hatch is on a hinge, allowing plenty of space for bikes, stand-up paddle boards and an array of water toys or other items.
The layout rendering below is the latest release from Back Cove’s Design Team – and if you’re noticing some similarities to the Back Cove 32, that’s no accident. Our two most recent models are intentionally similar, but you’ll find a difference in the aft facing seat that converts to a helm deck U-shaped dinette or a second berth. More striking is the 34O’s hull, which is newly designed to optimize the performance of her Yamaha 300’s (350 hp Yamaha or Suzuki’s optional).
