Bio In Brief:
When asked why he is a yacht broker, Scott says : "I meet great people who love boating, fishing and the sea - what better job is there than that for me? Working to find the right boat for people never gets old. The enthusiasm when they take delivery is always amazing. Best is when I get to see them jump on board with their family or friends and take off from the dock for the first time. Finding the right boat for people; that plus my love of boating and the water is why I'm still selling boats."
A lifelong boater, Scott was raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea and boating before he could walk. He was at the helm of his own boat by the age of eleven exploring the waters and harbors of the North Shore; as he grew older he ventured all along the eastern seaboard including his favorite trips from Boston through the inter coastal and ocean to Florida. He became Certified in Basic Boating and received his 100 Ton Captains License.
He graduated Keene State College, and went straight into the customer service industry, owning several sporting good stores, two Napa Auto Parts stores and six popular North Shore family bicycle shops. While he enjoyed owning his own businesses, there was only one problem: they were all on land! Lucky for us, he chose to join the team at Boston Yacht Sales and try that old saying "find work that you really love." The result of that decision is evident in his success, which is measured by a long list of satisfied clients.
Over the years Scott has owned skiffs, hard bottom inflatables, Center Consoles, Lobster boats and 33 Convertibles for fishing from the shores to Stellwagon Bank; a 48' Sedan Bridge and a 42' Sea Ray Sundancer on which he cruised all along the coast including Maine, Newport and New York. Currently, you'll find him on a 2000 46' Sea Ray Sundancer that he and wife Robyn refurbished and spend time visiting as many favorite spots - and new ports - as possible.
Scott has always worked on his own boats, which gives him a hands on knowledge of them from the instide to the outside, from engine rooms to anchor systems, - and this makes him a great resource for all his clients.
He keeps his boat in North Weymouth for the options it brings for great day trips as well as a base for extended cruises. His favorite trips are to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Provincetown, Newport, Cuttyhunk and any and all outlying islands along the coast. Whenever possible, you will find him and Robyn traveling on their boat, with their family and especially their adorable grandchildren - and always with cell phone and work bag within reach!
Scott raised his own boys on the water and it's no surprise they learned from their Dad to "turn your passion into your work." This is evident by their venture: Quality Yacht Care that maintains, details, paint bottoms and clean interiors of boats of all sizes north and south of Boston.
Scott is a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce and Past Chairman of the Board of Assessors and past member of the Board of Directors of Beverly National Bank in Manchester-by-the-Sea. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Rio Nuevo Condo Association in Florida where he loves to spend time as well. He has won numerous sales awards from manufacturers over the years, always attends the Hatteras University Dealer/Broker seminars, attends the Princess Yacht Dealer/Broker meetings at the Southampton, England facility and holds the designation Hatteras Champion and Princess Yacht Champion at Boston Yacht Sales. North or South, pre owned boat or new yacht, downsizing or upgrading, he's ready to talk about the marketing of your boat or finding the one you should buy.
