Bio In Brief:
Andrew is a life-long yachtsman who grew up boating on the lakes and coast of Maine. Whether he was exploring and fishing Casco Bay on his Sea Ox or water skiing behind the family bow-rider on Sebago Lake, Andrew's summers revolved around the water. Like any teenage boy, one of the few things that got him off the water was food, and some of Andrew's fondest summer memories came listening to the craftsmen from Sabre Yachts exchange boat building stories as he waited with them in line for a sandwich at the general store in Raymond. "I can still smell the resin and see the glass fibers on their clothes" says Andrew.
An accomplished mariner, Andrew holds a U.S. Coast Guard 50 Ton Master's License and is a former U.S. Sailing Certified Powerboat Instructor. He is a serial power boat buyer, owning a variable armada of vessels over the years. But as his wife, Julie, likes to point out, their passion for boats is a mutual obsession. Julie, an accomplished sailor and Rhodes 19 National Champion, cajoled Andrew into learning to sail when they dropped anchor in Marblehead over 20 years ago. Since then, Andrew has been an avid sailor who has raced in numerous fleets including Etchells, Rhodes 19, and J/105 and was a member of the 1998 International One Design North American Champion Team aboard his vintage 1938 IOD sloop, Pompano, which he helped restore.
Professionally, Andrew is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Boston College Law School, and brings extensive business development, consulting, and legal experience to our team. Andrew serves on the Board of Directors at RIBCRAFT, USA, a leading manufacturer of rigid inflatable boats and volunteers his time as President of the Corinthian Sailing Foundation, focusing on youth education and enrichment through sailing.
Prior to joining Boston Yacht Sales, Andrew was Managing Director and General Counsel for Flagship Adventures; developing unique corporate team building programs on Boston Harbor utilizing rigid inflatable boats and the natural resources of the Boston Harbor Islands. Andrew is a former officer and club counsel to the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead and Director at Courageous Sailing Center in Charlestown.
Andrew and Julie reside in Marblehead, along with their four children and their Labradoodle, Roxy, who can be seen walking Andrew around Marblehead Neck every morning. Roxy will patiently wait if you stop Andrew to say hello, but only if the topic of conversation is boats!
When not spending time on the water on his Back Cove 37 Downeast with family and friends, Andrew enjoys reliving his youth as a coach for his children's youth football, hockey and lacrosse teams. Still a few years away from having an empty nest, Andrew and Julie’s dream of casting off in a beautiful down east salon express to do the Great Loop is on hold. Until then, Andrew is happy to help you fulfill your boating dreams by finding just the right #boat4you.
