New England Harbor

Our broker Andrew Savage and his co-captain and wife, Julie are on the water to celebrate a recent Anniversary! Both are lifelong avid boaters and recreational and racing sailors. Cruising on their Back Cove Downeast 37 and enjoying day trips with all or some of their four children along with family and friends is a favorite pastime.

For this trip, they left Marblehead Saturday afternoon for a short run to Plymouth, staying the night on a mooring at Plymouth Yacht Club.  Andrew reports it was also a treat seeing his client’s Sabre 48 which calls Plymouth home!

After a Fathers’ Day breakfast aboard on Sunday, they made the run all the way to Block Island.  It was a beautiful day to be on the water with calm seas and sunny skies. They spotted a Princess 55 Andrew had recently delivered to a customer, enjoying time with his family on the hook in Great Salt Pond – how great to keep seeing customers and friends along the way! Two nights were then spent in a slip at the Block Island Boat Basin and they enjoyed exploring the island by bike during the day.

Tuesday they departed Block Island for a short 20 mile run to Montauk in a big swell left over from Monday’s 20-30 knot southwest breeze, but nothing a Back Cove Yacht built in Maine couldn’t handle! The plan is to spend two nights enjoying the recently renovated marina at the Montauk Yacht Club and Resort…. we think they’ve planned a great trip so far and it’s not over yet so stay tuned for more photos soon.

Clearly these two enjoy nothing more than waking up on board, catching up on some work in a cockpit with magnificent views that keep changing, and then enjoying well deserved down time.  Proof positive that owning a boat is owning waterfront property…..that takes you wherever you want to be!
